OCS has announced a new partnership with weight-loss group Slimming World to provide healthy meals in staff restaurants.
The two companies said they have teamed up to demonstrate that it is possible to cater for large numbers of staff and provide healthy yet tasty menu choices.
The foodservice and facilities management firm has worked with Slimming World catering staff to create 55 healthy and low-calorie dishes from fish and chips to pasta carbonara and lamb curry.
The meals have been developed from Slimming World recipes and provide OCS clients with easy-to-follow menus.
Mark Nelson, director of catering at OCS Group said the main aim is to provide choice.
"Staff are offered a daily healthy hot menu choice, soup and dessert choice. Whether they want to lose weight because they are already following a weight loss programme, or simply want to eat more healthily and cut down on fat, salt and sugar, it's possible to do so without having to feel hungry.
"The relationship with Slimming World demonstrates our commitment to work with our clients to help them to support their staff in making healthy lifestyle choices."
The dishes are currently being trialled in two OCS client sites as part of a pilot programme and if successful, the new Slimming World menu options will be rolled out to the majority of OCS client canteens and staff restaurants in the New Year.
Slimming World's business development manager, Paul Sharpe who worked with the OCS team to set up the pilot said: "At Slimming World we've always known that it is possible to prepare and enjoy healthy food without compromising on quality or taste.
"The staff restaurant at Slimming World has always been an excellent example of how it's possible to cater healthily for large numbers."
