One Event Management acquires Absolute Taste

One Event Management has acquired Lyndy Redding and McLaren Technology Group's event design company Absolute Taste for an undisclosed sum.

The deal will see One Event Management's catering brand Mecco and Absolute Taste rebrand to create a single European luxury event design company.

They will operate as Absolute Taste across a spectrum of hospitality services including Absolute Taste's existing portfolio of restaurants and cafes, private jet catering, events, fixed site contracts and performance sports including F1 hospitality. The companies will also continue to operate at Mecco's established contracts at various live events and sporting occasions.

Existing teams and offices will be unaffected by the move, while further investment will be made into product innovation to provide growth opportunities.

Neil MacLaurin, chairman of One Event Management, said: "Absolute Taste marks the best of the best in food design and hospitality, and is a fantastic fit as we strive to reach the pinnacle in food, drink and customer entertaining.

"We're busy planning this year's events and our new team is sure to knock creativity out of the park and create some phenomenal customer experiences."

Redding, founder and managing director of Absolute Taste, added: "This new chapter will see us working with like-minded individuals who all share our unique attention to detail and unrivalled levels of service."

Jonathan Neale, chief operating officer, McLaren Technology Group, said: "If it's true that an army marches on its stomach, then the 3,000-strong McLaren army has been expertly sustained by Absolute Taste who cater to the same high standards for our own people and for our VIP guests both here at the McLaren Technology Centre and wherever we're racing in the world.

"The change of ownership will allow Lyndy and her dedicated, hard-working team at Absolute Taste to pursue exciting new opportunities while enabling McLaren to focus on growing our core technology businesses. I'm pleased to also confirm that Absolute Taste will continue to be our preferred hospitality company."

One Event Management is comprised of Mecco, F3, the Muddy Duck Pub, Unbranded, Fresh Air, and Fresh Start.

Absolute Taste was founded in 1997 to provide hospitality to the McLaren F1 team.
