Pabulum wins Willowbrook school meals deal

Education caterer Pabulum has won a new Essex school meals deal worth £222,000.

The three-year contract with Willowbrook School in Hutton, near Brentwood, Essex, will commence in April.

The Pabulum team will deliver freshly prepared school lunches to nearly 200 pupils aged four to 11 at the new build school, which opened just over 12 months ago.

Amanda Ciraulo, director of sales at Pabulum, commented: "The team [at Willowbrook] already knew of our reputation for providing high-quality, healthy and nutritionally well-balanced meals through their association with St Martins.

"That, together with our partnership approach to the business side of the operation, provided a compelling argument when deciding on a catering partner."

The school, which prides itself on its imaginative and creative approach to learning, was also enamoured with Pabulum's Healthy Bunch characters and engaging programme of marketing activities.

Head teacher Sally Taggart explained: "It's important for the children to buy into everything that goes on in the school and the Healthy Bunch offers a fun, exciting and engaging way to help them learn about the benefits of healthy eating and at the same time encouraging them to try something new.

"The Pabulum team is full of bright ideas to help us make mealtimes more interesting and their hands on approach is very refreshing."
