Paul Rowley to run catering for Blackpool FC Hotel and Conference Centre
North-west chef and hotelier Paul Rowley and business partner Lindsay Campbell have picked up their first catering contract, with Blackpool FC.
The pair has been appointed by the football club to provide all the hospitality for the forthcoming Blackpool FC Hotel and Conference Centre in the South Stand.
The 72-bedroom, four-star property will formally open on 26 July, but will receive guests from the end of this month.
It will feature a 100-cover restaurant, overlooking the south-east corner of the pitch, named Rowley's after its chef. It will be open to the public as well as serving the hotel residents and in addition will host diners with match-day packages that are available from the club.
Rowley described the menu as modern British with "some international twists", adding: "We will be sourcing the best local and regional suppliers to provide the very highest quality and value for our guests."
Blackpool FC chairman Karl Oyston said the hotel, which will also feature conference and function rooms, a gym, spa and 14 hospitality boxes, represented a huge investment for the club.
Commenting on Rowley, he added: "He is a local guy who came very highly recommended and we had no hesitation in wanting to work with him on this fantastic project."
Reading, Bolton and Chelsea are among the few ventures to feature hotels that are integrated into their stadiums.
