People 1st makes two trustee board appointments

Sara Edwards, group human resources director at Tragus Group and Geoffrey Harrison, chairman of Harrison Catering, have been appointed to the People 1st board of trustees.

Their experience would enhance the sector skills council's capacity for employee engagement as well as its involvement in contract catering, People 1st chairman David Fairhurst said.

"Sara has extensive experience as a board-level HR professional, especially around employee engagement, business transformation, creating value-based cultures, talent retention and driving world-class service," he added.

"Geoffrey's wealth of knowledge and experience will prove a fantastic addition to our board. The fact that he has worked across all aspects of operational management and business development within contract catering will provide us with unique insights into this industry and help ensure we're representing the interests of our sector to the best of our ability."

Fairhurst said that the new appointments would make a significant impact on the organisation.

"We've got the jobs and the growth to help significantly impact unemployment and play an important role in the overall visitor experience within the UK economy. The expertise we've welcomed to the board of trustees will only enhance our ability to deliver," he said.
