Peter Ducker appointed Institute of Hospitality chief executive
The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) has appointed Peter Ducker to succeed Philippe Rossiter as its chief executive.
Ducker has served as an executive councillor and trustee of the IoH since 2010, and will take up his new post on 2 January 2013.
He is currently executive director of the Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA), chairman of the Hotel Carbon Index (Carepar) and a consultant to the hotel industry through Roundpeg Resources.
Ducker said: "I have been a member of the Institute of Hospitality throughout my career and I strongly believe in the importance of good education and continuous professional development to attract and retain the quality of management that the hospitality industry requires today. I am honoured to succeed Philippe as its chief executive and look forward to steering the institute through a new chapter in its history."
Outgoing chief executive Philippe Rossiter added: "We are delighted to welcome Peter into his new role. With his broad industry experience and his particular expertise in sales, marketing and management, Peter is well-positioned to take the institute forward."
