Pickled Walnut strikes £250,000 St Helens golf club catering deal

Foodservice company Pickled Walnut has struck a £250,000, three-year deal with Grange Park Golf Club in St Helens, near Liverpool.

This will create six new jobs for the Wirral-based firm, which will take responsibility for all the hospitality and in-house catering at the site, under the new Food@…by Pickled Walnut brand.

Food@… is a new venture for the company, who started the brand after it launched a similar agreement at Caldy Golf Club, Wirral, earlier this year.

Brand director at Pickled Walnut, Jamie Anderson, said that the success of the brand at Caldy had "proved the commercial model to be successful".

He added that there are firm plans to expand the name further, saying: "We are also in talks with other venues looking to replicate the ‘Food@ … by Pickled Walnut' model for themselves."

The new contract comes soon after the company announced that it was managing all the café and events catering at Liverpool landmark "The Florrie" Florence Institute.

Other major projects include being the preferred caterer at Combermere Abbey, Cheshire; the main caterer at Liverpool Town Hall; at Hoghton Tower, Blackpool; and at Manchester Cathedral.
