Pod to open new site in Seven Dials

Healthy fast food brand Pod has secured a new site in Seven Dials, London, for an opening this September.

The 1,097sq ft site near Covent Garden will feature a condensed menu, eventually with the addition of alcohol, and will be the brand's 24th site in London. The company is also looking at other potential sites in west London after opening its first site in four years on Kingsway near Holborn in July.

The first Pod shop opened on London Wall in 2005 and Pod announced in 2011 it had secured £3.5m worth of funding from investors, with plans to reach 25 sites by 2013.

Executive chairman John Postlethwaite said: "We are thrilled to be well and truly on-the-move again. Our new Seven Dials site takes us west into the heart of London's tourist scene. We are looking forward to new challenges this site poses such as seven-day trading and pre-theatre dining, both new to Pod."
