Prestige London and HMS Belfast to develop quayside pavilion
Prestige London and HMS Belfast have announced plans to develop a new quayside pavilion on Queen's Walk, alongside the iconic London landmark.
A division of Sodexo, the caterer already provides HMS Belfast with catering, hospitality and event management services and it will also operate the new development.
Designed by CPMG, the pavilion is intended to enhance the tour experience with improved entrance facilities, a ground floor café and a dramatic rooftop café-bar.
Southwark Council granted planning permission for the development, which will replace the existing platform on Queen's Walk with architecture more fitting to the surroundings that aims to attract passers-by along the popular riverside location.
James Greetham, managing director for Prestige London, said: "We are extremely excited about working in partnership with HMS Belfast to develop this new and exciting commercial proposition at one of London's most iconic venues and tourist attractions."
Work on the pavilion, which will begin at the end of this year, is expected to be completed by summer 2012.
