Quarter Group teams up with IHG for Kensington venture

Set to open on 1 November, the Kensington Quarter will be the fifth site in Doron and Valeria Zilkha's Quarter Group.

The others are the Royal Quarter in Victoria; the Chelsea Quarter Café on the King's Road, the River Quarter Kitchen in Battersea and Heal's Quarter Café in the interior design store on Tottenham Court Road.

Designed by consultancy Dexter Moren Associates, the Kensington Quarter will offer all-day dining for both hotel guests and public visitors. Head chef Riad Zailuk, previously at Oxo Tower Brasserie and Pont de la Tour, has devised a menu comprising organic, seasonal and locally crafted ingredients.

Sample dishes include Cornish crab salad; salad of confit Lancaster duck leg; native lobster roll; five spices braised mutton shoulder; and free-range chicken & pigeon pastilla pie. Meanwhile, Valrhona chocolate fondant and spicy banana & ginger tarte tatin will feature on the dessert menu. The space will also feature an in-house deli.
