What was your first job?
I worked in a bakery on Saturdays. I got to eat a lot of cake. I doubt I was very effective.
What was your first job in catering?
My first real full-time job was in a restaurant in Luxembourg. I know the names of all the vegetables in French, plus all the swear words.
What do you normally have for breakfast?
Usually eggs with filmjolk [Swedish soured milk] and lots of seeds with crispbread
How do you relax?
I go for a long run along the canals in London and finish with an hour of yoga
Which is your favourite restaurant?
The Ledbury in Notting Hill
What's your favourite hotel?
The Okura in Amsterdam
What is your favourite drink?
Am I allowed to say Piña Colada? OK, fine, I love really good gin.
What is your favourite food?
Aside from Scandinavian food, give me classic French food
Are there any foods/ingredients that you refuse to cook with?
Foie gras
How would you describe your desk?
Chaos. It's a lost cause.
What daily newspaper/website do you read?
Whichever paints the rosiest picture that day
If you had not gone into catering, where do you think you would be now?
Writing books. Luckily, I get to do both.
Describe your ultimate nightmare?
An empty fridge
When and where was your last holiday?
I went to Rome with the kids and my husband Jonas and we ate our way through the city
What irritates you most about the industry?
Inequality.
What's your favourite film?
Big Night starring Stanley Tucci
What's your favourite book?
Anything by Haruki Murakami
If you had more time, what would you do?
Sleep! So much to do, see and experience, so little time to sleep.
