Sales up 5.5% at City caterer Vacherin

City caterer Vacherin saw its sales increase 5.5% to £11.5m during a year of "intense competition".

The company saw operating profit before tax rise 8.2% to £503,275 for the 12 months to 31 August 2013, according to documents filed at Companies House.

The company directors, Clive Hetherington, Mark Philpott and Phil Roker, described the reporting period as successful and one in which "existing clients continued to seek cost savings and competition for new business was intense".

They said: "During the first half of our new financial year we have benefited from an atmosphere of increased confidence and buoyancy in our traditional Central London market place.

"It has been an exceptionally successful period during which we have won four new contracts with an annual value in excess of £2m.

"We are confident that the current year will see further significant growth in both turnover and profit."
