Salon Culinaire was another success story
Le Salon Culinaire International de Londres, at Hotelympia 2006, excelled once again at ExCel. When the prizegiving and awards ceremony came to an end, just over 750 awards had been presented across the three culinary features, with more than 1,000 entries received in Salon.
My grateful and sincere thanks to the industry - the interest from competitors and the support from sponsors has been excellent.
To the many competitors who must be disappointed at not being able to compete, I offer my sincere apologies.
As always, I tried to spread the entries to please as many people as possible, but unfortunately I still had to turn away many entries in Live Theatre and many teams in La Parade des Chefs, such was the demand.
The quality and standard of exhibits in the Salon Display was breathtaking and a credit to the very talented people in our industry. The Live Theatre was a hive of activity, with thousands of visitors all week. La Parade des Chefs continues to be admired and very well attended, and has been a huge success since its introduction in1994. On behalf of the organisers of this very successful show, Fresh RM, our thanks to all the sponsors and our warmest congratulations and well done to all competitors. Your skills are a credit to our industry.
A special mention to the members of my team and judges for their professionalism and commitment. Also, to Westminster Kingsway College and Waltham Forest College, which supported La Parade des Chefs front of house, and to the many industry friends and colleagues who have demonstrated their continued support to me and Fresh RM and Le Salon Culinaire International de Londres.
