Salt Yard Group to cater at roaming cinema Nomad's summer pop-ups
The restaurateurs behind Salt Yard, Dehesa and Opera Tavern have announced plans to work with roaming cinema the Nomad as its official food partner for a series of summer pop-ups.
The Salt Yard Group's recently launched catering arm will offer cinema-goers their own take on traditional cinema and alfresco dining fare at the events, to be held in London's Queen's Park this summer.
Dishes on offer will include the likes of Ibérico burgers with manchego and guindilla, and salt cod croquettes and courgette flowers with goats' cheese and honey.
Salt Yard Group and Nomad will work together for three dates (18 August, 8 September and 22 September) for screenings of three cult classic movies from three different decades: The Graduate; The Goonies; and The Big Lebowski.
Founder of the Nomad Sally Wilton commented: "As an admirer of the Salt Yard Group, ethically and edibly, I am delighted that they are bringing their culinary magic to the Queens Park 2012 film screenings. Their sense of playfulness will make the food a perfect partner for the film evenings."
The Salt Yard Group will donate £1 from each bill to the Nomad's chosen charity, the Sustainability Institute, for any Nomad ticket holders who dine at their three restaurants during August.
The Nomad is the sister company to one of west London's most cherished local cinemas, the Lexi.
