Searcys and Anthony Demetre to launch Urban Coterie restaurant
Urban Coterie - a new restaurant created by Searcys in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Anthony Demetre - will open in Shoreditch, east London, on 5 November.
It will be located on the 17th floor of the M by Montcalm hotel on City Road for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Saturday.
Martin Zahumensky, formerly of Texture and Hibiscus (pictured above left with Anthony Demetre), has been appointed head chef at the restaurant, which will offer a seasonal menu of British ingredients.
Signature dishes will include pork belly, carrots, grapefruit and liquorice and grilled monkfish with cockles, kale, rosemary and anchovy vinaigrette.
Snacks such as pig's head with Parmesan potato doughnuts will also feature on the menu alongside starters of Brixham crab, apple and celeriac.
Demetre said: "I love east London for its infectious energy and I'm excited to be opening Urban Coterie here with Searcys. Today, cooking can be unnecessarily over-complicated and our approach lets seasonal ingredients do the talking. I'm fortunate to have the talented Martin Zahumensky as head chef as his cooking ethos is very much in line with mine."
There will also be a Sky Bar, which will be overseen by bar manager Jeremy Pascal and a private members' club will open later this year.
Designed by Tonik Associates, the restaurant's interior will take inspiration from the building's striking architecture. It will feature traditional materials such as brass, timber, bianco marble and leather to soften the angular building.
A 12-seat private dining room will have blow-out glass for optional privacy as well as a window into kitchen next door.
