Searcys to open Birmingham Selfridges brasserie

Searcys has expanded its Birmingham presence with the launch of the Balcony Bar & Brasserie in the city's Selfridges building in the Bullring.

The restaurant and bar operator will open the restaurant on the fourth floor on 23 November.

Searcys said the brasserie will focus on "original, fun and indulgent" food, when it opens daily 10am to 10pm. Sample dishes include fish and chips, chorizo hash browns and chicken and waffles.

The brasserie will also offer an extensive Champagne list, afternoon tea and seasonal treats including plant pot cakes, edible flower cocktails and brussel sprout tapas.

As part of the new opening, the bar has been developed in partnership with Moét & Chandon and will include its full range of Champagnes with a particular emphasis on Rosés.

Chris Maddison, Searcys marketing director commented: "We are very pleased to become a part of what is one of the most iconic buildings in the country.

"Searcys already operate in some well-known UK landmarks, so to add the Selfridges building to our collection is extremely exciting. Selfridges is known for its cutting-edge, bold and stylish personality, and the Balcony will very much aim to reflect this."

Searcys operates a number of Champagne Bars at locations including St Pancras Station and Westfield shopping centres, as well as a private members club at the top of 30 St Mary Axe, also known as the Gherkin.
