Searcys wins £12.5m deal with Birmingham Repertory Theatre
Searcys is set to operate the new bar and brasserie at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre when it reopens in September in a deal worth £12.5m.
The theatre has been closed for the last two years as it undergoes refurbishment, including a revamp of the bars and restaurants to make them more open, accessible and welcoming.
The five-year contract will see Searcys operate the new Centenary Bar & Brasserie.
The Brasserie, which overlooks Centenary Square, will open every day from breakfast through to pre-show dining and late night snacks and serve a bistro-style menu of seasonal British food.
The Centenary Bar will offer an all-day range of artisan coffees, sandwiches and cakes, wines, charcuterie boards and other bar snacks including gourmet hot-dogs.
"We are very excited to be a part of the Birmingham Rep's development and have a presence in the UK's second city."
The addition of a new 300-seat studio theatre and hospitality suites to the Rep's existing 800-seat main auditorium and 140-seat theatre as part of the refurbishment aims to increase its conference & banqueting and events business.
