Sodexo appoints Jeremy Alderton as new education MD
Foodservice firm Sodexo has appointed Jeremy Alderton as managing director for its independent education branch.
He will begin the post on 1 February.
Alderton has worked for Sodexo since 1988, and is currently sales director for Sodexo Education in the UK and Ireland. He has worked in both the corporate and education sectors of the company, including roles in both operations and sales.
Jane Bristow, managing director of Sodexo Education, said: "Jeremy brings with him a wealth of valuable experience in the education market. He has a strong craft background that is especially relevant for the newly-launched Independents by Sodexo food offer.
"I am confident Jeremy's business development and craft focus will prove to be a powerful combination."
Sodexo has a strong educational presence. Recent deals include an £15.7m deal with University College London and a five-year extension on an existing 60-year contract with independent school Wellington College, Berkshire.
