Sodexo chef continues run of competition success with second place at ScotHot awards
Sodexo chef Ross McMillan was a runner-up in the Young Chef of the Year category in the ScotHot awards.
McMillan, who is originally from Tillicoultry, works at the University of Stirling's Stirling Management Centre.
In 2009, he was named Compass Scottish Junior Chef. Last year he picked up gold and bronze medals in the Hotelympia Salon Culinaire and was named Sodexo Scottish Junior Chef of the Year and Sodexo UK and Northern Ireland Junior Chef of the Year.
McMillan said: "I am delighted to be runner-up in such a high-profile Scottish culinary competition. The training I've received at Sodexo is excellent and I hope that this and the exposure from this event will stand me in good stead for my career development."
The awards took place at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow, as part of the three-day Scottish hospitality, tourism and catering exhibition. The winner was Adam Handling, head chef for Esperante at Fairmount, St Andrews Bay.
Al Thom, general manager for Sodexo Scotland at the Stirling Management Centre, said: "I am very pleased for Ross with what is his fifth success in major competitions."
