Sodexo extends long-term Wellington College contract for five more years

Sodexo has signed a new five-year catering contract with Wellington College in Berkshire, which has retained its services for more than 60 years.

The£25m deal, which includes an option to retain the contract for a further five years, comes on the back of a relationship between caterer and the college that first began in 1951.

Sodexo will continue to provide all catering, housekeeping, waste management and porter services to the 1,050 pupils at Wellington College, which was founded in 1859. The 200 Sodexo-managed staff at the site will also provide support to commercial lettings, events, and matron and valet services, offering support all day, every day.

The contract will also see Sodexo provide similar services to the 360 pupils at Eagle House, a preparatory and pre-preparatory school for three- to 13-year-olds, in nearby Sandhurst.

Jane Bristow, managing director of Sodexo Education, said: "We hope the staff, pupils and visitors continue to enjoy our responsibly-sourced, healthy range of freshly-prepared food.

"Our housekeeping, waste management and porter services will continue to allow the school to focus on providing pupils with an inspiring academic experience."

Earlier this year Sodexo sponsored the Sunday Times Festival of Education held at Wellington College. As well as catering for visitors at the two-day event, Sodexo ran a number of cookery competition led by celebrity chef Paul Rankin." target="_blank" rel="noreferrer">Sodexo wins £18m Santander catering deal >>](
