Sodexo lands £60m Coventry University contract
Sodexo has landed a 10-year contract, worth £6m per annum, to supply catering and hospitality services for Coventry University.
From September, Sodexo will take over all the catering, food retail and hospitality services on the university's campuses in Coventry, London and Scarborough, delivering services to almost 30,000 students and 5,000 University employees. The contract was previously held by Compass.
Sodexo will invest in new facilities and digital services at the University's 17 catering outlets. New food offers and brands will be introduced including a new coffee bar and vegan street food offer ‘Planted', as well as a permanent food truck, all working closely with local suppliers and social enterprises where possible.
Sodexo will also launch an app so that food and drinks can be pre-ordered and collected.
Michael Ricketts, assistant director of catering and retail at Coventry University, said: "We are always looking to improve the experience for our students and staff so we are delighted to appoint Sodexo as our catering and hospitality providers."
Paul Anstey, CEO of schools and universities, Sodexo UK & Ireland, added: "In line with the University's ethos of sustainability, we will work with them to measure and reduce both food and packaging waste. We are delighted to have been appointed by Coventry University and look forward to working with them."
