Sodexo Prestige Scotland wins 18-month deal at Thirlestane Castle
Sodexohas signed an 18-month contract with Thirlestane Castle to run events at the historic property in Scotland.
The contract caterer's Prestige Scotland division will be responsible for growing both corporate and private events at the 13th-century castle in Berwickshire. The deal marks the first time Thirlestane Castle has appointed an outside caterer to provide services at the venue.
Set in the Scottish Borders at Lauder, Thirlestane Castle is set extensive parklands overlooking the Lammermuir Hills. Prestige Scotland plans to use foraged ingredients from the property on its event menus, including wild herbs and mushrooms.
David Forbes, Prestige Scotland operations manager, said: "We are delighted to be working with Thirlestane Castle, using our expertise to provide excellent food and to grow its event and catering opportunities and hope that it is the start of a long and successful partnership."
Thirlestane Castle was rebuilt as the Maitland family home in 1590 and greatly enhanced by the Duke of Lauderdale in the 1670s. In 1840, it was extended and refurbished with the addition of two new wings.
