Sodexo scoops silver for Olympic training operation

Sodexo has won silver at the Learning Awards for the way it tackled training staff working at last year's London Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The firm's learning and development team was recognised in the Internal Learning Project category for its Be More than a Spectator campaign, which saw it train 5,000 people to deliver public and staff catering.

The judges were particularly impressed by the way it maintained engagement with employees through social media.

Graeme McKinneley, learning and development business partner at Sodexo, said: "It was great to be recognised with a silver award for our approach to training the 5,000 employees we recruited for the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics. It is testament to the hard work and dedication shown by the team for a project that spanned nearly two years."
