Sodexo to invest £300,000 in new St James' Park Newcastle ground bar

Sodexo Prestige has today announced that it has invested £300,000 in a new bar for Newcastle United football ground St James' Park.

Sodexo already manages conference and banqueting catering for the ground through its team of 700 staff, and the bar will serve as an additional venue for social events. It will also open for supporters on match days.

Account director Colin Perkins said: "Nine will be a fantastic new venue with a superb, high quality, value for money menu and a comprehensive range of drinks and offers, satisfying not only fans visiting the stadium on match days but also those visiting throughout the week."

Commenting on the new name, Newcastle United director John Irving said: "In transforming the site and opening the bar up to a wider range of visitors, it was important that a new name remained in keeping with the club's history and heritage and Nine is certainly faithful to that."
