Sodexo to roll out ethical beverage across global sites

Sodexo is to roll out its ethical hot beverage offer, Aspretto, globally after a successful trial at 20 sites.

The contract caterer, which buys 8,000 tons of coffee a year and serves more than 1 billion cups, plans to introduce Aspretto to 500 sites by the end of this year.

Aspretto beverages are accredited by the Rainforest Alliance,Fairtrade Foundation and the Soil Association.

Damien Verdier, group executive vice-president and chief marketing officer at Sodexo, said: "Sodexo is proud to further its commitment to fair trade, in keeping with the group's values and ethical principles.

"Our commitment encompasses both environmental and societal considerations and is consistent with Sodexo's mission to improve the quality of daily life and to contribute to economic, social and environmental development of the regions and countries where we operate."
