Sodexo wins £10m City University London contract

Sodexo has won a five-year contract to provide catering and hospitality services at City University London's Northampton Square campus.

The deal, worth £2m a year, will see Sodexo serve a population of more than 14,000 students and staff.

The foodservice giant will operate eight catering outlets including the main restaurant as well as "on-trend casual dining options" such as street food.

As with other Sodexo higher education contracts, a student experience manager will use social media to drive engagement with customers and foster an understanding of what students want.

Caroline Jenkins, deputy director, property and facilities, City University London, said: "We're very excited about our new partnership with Sodexo, and, in particular, introducing sustainable, locally sourced, fresh food to our students, staff and visitors. I'm sure our new and returning students will be bowled over when they arrive in the autumn to our reinvigorated catering outlets."
