Sodexo wins Aberdeenshire college catering deal

Sodexo has secured a five-year contract with a college in Aberdeenshire worth more than £2m in total turnover.

The contract, which has an annual turnover of £450,000, will see Sodexo provide catering and cleaning services at Banff and Buchan college in Fraserburgh.

Sodexo will refurbish and run the college's refectory under its Unity education sector brand, as well as running a retail shop and café bar for the colleges 5,000 students and staff.

Gorgon MacDonald, the college's facilities manager, said: "Sodexo's bid stood out from all the others.
"We were very impressed with the quality of the sales development team, the focus on customer service and imaginative refurbishment proposal."

Sodexo will employ 27 staff at the college. Earlier this month Catersearch revealed that Sodexo's £17m catering and soft services deal at King's College Hospital in London was to be re-tendered.
