Sodexo wins eight-year Huddersfield Town deal
Foodservice firm Sodexo has won an eight year contract to deliver catering at the Huddersfield Town Football Club and Huddersfield Giants Rugby Club stadium.
There are also plans to open a new retail café in the stadium's business and conference centre.
The new contract is part of a wider improvement drive by the stadium's owner, Kirklees Stadium Development, with Sodexo chosen for the deal because of the firm's size and experience in the field.
Divisional director for Sodexo Prestige, Jeremy Dicks, said: "This is an exciting new partnership enabling us to build on our existing stadia portfolio in the North. We look forward to using our wealth of experience in sports stadia catering and hospitality as well as sales of conference and events space to the benefit of the John Smith's stadium."
One of the largest foodservice firms operating in the UK, Sodexo has clients in well over 2,000 venues across the UK, including in healthcare, education, leisure and defence.
Major deals announced recently include UCL, and an £18m signing with bank Santander, plus an extension of its long-standing contract with Wellington College, Berkshire.
