Springboard toasts summer graduates

The organisation ran the work-experience scheme during the summer school-break to allow participants to work side-by-side with operational staff at some of the city's top venues.

It had previously trained the students up on food hygiene, health and safety and team building activities before sending them out on placement.

Businesses that took part included Café Spice, Red Carnation Hotels, London City Airport, the Cavendish hotel, London Marriott, the Ritz hotel, Baxter & Platts, Bartlett Mitchell and the Hilton London Metropole hotel.

Mini-masterclasses were provided by mentoring and personnel specialists Learn Purple.

Springboard's Sam Coulstock said: "As a direct result of being involved in Summer School many students have been taken on during the summer and are now seeking full-time employment within this industry."
