Starwood's Sam Hayter recognised with special HR award

Starwood's Sam Hayter has received the Special Recognition Award from human resources association HR in Hospitality.

Hayter, director of human resources at Starwood's central London hotels, was recognised at an awards dinner held last week (24 September) at the Royal Automobile Club in the capital's Pall Mall.

The Excellence in HR Award went to pâtisserie chain Paul UK, while Josh Light from contract caterer CH & Co (previously Charlton House) was named as 2010's Rising Star.

Andrew Foulkes at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons in Oxfordshire took the Excellence by an Operations/Line Manager title, and Kellie Rixon, managing director of the De Vere Academy of Hospitality, was recognised with an Excellence in Training and Talent Development award.

Chewton Glen in Hampshire rounded out the award winners with the Establishing Links with Schools and Colleges accord.

The night raised £5,000 for HR in Hospitality's chosen charities of Springboard UK and Hospitality Action.
