Talkington Bates launches new division for care sites
Independent contract caterer Talkington Bates has launched a dedicated division tasked with the development of its growing number of extra care and residential care sites.
Talkington Bates care division, part of the company's Midlands operation, will look after sites nationally. Fiona Hopkinson (pictured) will head up the team with the new job title of managing director, Talkington Bates Midlands & care.
Commenting on the firm's care catering offer, Hopkinson said the service was as much about the social interaction that the dining experience generated.
"We go that extra mile for residents by offering a bespoke service that reflects their individual needs by, for example, offering nutritional information and advice," she said. "We have a passion for improving not only the food in this important sector but also the quality of life for residents."
Company initiatives to encourage the social aspect of care catering include regular invites to Sunday lunch for the families of residents.
Since starting the regional-based operation of Talkington Bates, and developing the care market sector, Hopkinson has built it up to account for around 30% of the group's overall business.
