The Craft Guild of Chefs appoints new chairman

The Craft Guild of Chefs has appointed Compass Group's Nick Vadis as its new chairman.

Vadis takes over from retiring chairman, Steve Munkley, who will become one a vice-president of the Guild.

Vadis is group executive chef for contract caterer Eurest at British Airways.

He has been Steve Munkley's vice-chair for the past three years and was also team captain of the Guilds' Culinary Team from 2001 to 2004.

Retiring chairman Munkley said: "The Chairmanship of the Guild is not one of those positions where you can rest on your laurels, it needs dedication, innovation and foresight, all of which Nick has."

Current treasurer of the Guild, Andrew Green will become Vadis' vice-chairman. He will also continue in his role as treasurer for the next 12 months.
