The Latymer at Pennyhill Park wins five AA rosettes

The Latymer restaurant at Pennyhill Park in Bagshot, Surrey, has become the only new recipient of five AA rosettes across Britain this year.

Four AA rosettes, meanwhile, were awarded to Glenapp Castle in Ballantrae where Adam Stokes is head chef and the Ocean Restaurant at the Atlantic Hotel in St Brelade, Jersey, where the kitchen is led by Mark Jordan.

There were 12 new three rosette restaurants named this year, including the newly opened Pollen Street Social and Coworth Park in Ascot.

Four hotels were awarded the AA's top hotel awarded of five AA red stars - the Savoy, the Four Seasons Hotel Park Lane and St James's Hotel and Club, all in London, and Robin Hutson's Limewood hotel in Lyndhurst, Hampshire.

Six hotels were awarded four red stars - Armathwaite Hall in Keswick, Cumbria, Barnsley House, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, Buxted Park Hotel in Ashdown Forest, East Sussex, Feversham Arms and Verbena Spa in Helmsley, Yorkshire, the Old Government House Hotel & Spa in St Peter Port, Guernsey, and Rhinefield House in Brockenhurst, Hampshire.

Three hotels were given three AA red star status and only one hotel received two red stars.
