Expression of interest to tender for the communtiy meals and shopping services (Includes: Meals on Wheels, Meals to Day Centres and a Shopping Service)
Lambeth Council is pleased to offer a real opportunity for experienced and suitably qualified Contractor/s to provide a Community Meals Service (includes Meals on Wheels, Meals to Day Centres and a Shopping Service) for the Adults' and Community Services.The service is delivered to vulnerable and older people who are unable to cook and shop for themselves.
The service has been divided into 5 Contract Lots:
Lot 1
a further two years.
Lot 2 Frozen meals - the provision of meals on wheels service, the contract is for three years with the possibility to extend up
to a further two years.
Lot 3 Day Centre meals - the provision of hot and cold meals prepared at the day centres.
Lot 4 Shopping Service - the provision of a shopping service, for service users who are unable to shop for themselves.
The contract is for three year contract with the possibility to extend up to a further two years.
Lot 5 Specialist Providers -to join a framework for up to four years, for the provision of cultural and traditional meals for day
centres and service users on personalised budgets.
Tenderers will be able to bid for one or more Lots.
The successful Contractors must be able to deliver high quality meals services and/or the shopping service. The contracts also
emphasises the preventative aspect of the service, ensuring service users health and well-being is monitored enabling them to
retain their independence.
Providers must be able to provide all equipment and premises (i.e. kitchen and work space) to deliver the service from.

The closing date for Expressions of Interest is: 12 noon, Wednesday 6th August 2008.
Contractors who have expressed their interest will be advised of which Lambeth Business Questionnaire to complete for
pre-qualification purposes.
It is anticipated that invitations to Tender, will be dispatched to selected candidates in August 2008 with the intention to commence
the contract from April 2009.
