The Réunion des Gastronomes reveal new award scheme
The award was launched by the group's president, Serge Pradier, at the 98th Annual Banquet this week at the Langham Hotel in London. Open to applicants of any age, it aims to mentor professionals while encouraging them to progress in their careers and nurture talent.
Prizes include a four-year membership to the Réunion des Gastronomes, an invitation to five Gastronome events, mentoring from members, and an all-expenses paid stage across a wide range of sectors, such as hotels, restaurants, contract caterers, London clubs and the Clink, an award-winning charity project.
Pradier said: "We deliberately chose not to restrict the age for applicants, as we wanted to include the many people who have chosen a total career change later in life. I am delighted that this has come to fruition during my time as president and we look forward to meeting the shortlisted applicants."
Shortlisted finalists will receive an invitation to attend two events which will lead up to the final announcement at the 99th Annual Banquet in November next year.
The closing date for nominations is 1 March 2017. Those nominated must be in full-time employment at supervisory level and above. Applicants who would qualify for membership to the organisation will be offered the opportunity to become one. To enter and find out more go to gastronomes.org/presidentscharity/.
The Réunion des Gastronomes launched in 1899 to raise the standards within hotels and catering operations. It is formed from senior hospitality professionals who aim to promote and develop the industry.
