Three weeks left to enter Olive Barnett Award

There are just three weeks left for young hospitality high-fliers to enter this year's Olive Barnett Award.

The grand prize is a place at the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne's hospitality management summer 2006 programme, plus a £3,000 career development grant.

Last year's winner, Kelly Morgan, elected to spend some of her £1,000 career development grant on a six-day fact-finding mission with the Jumeirah International Group in Dubai.

Morgan, who works as reception manager at London's Sheraton Park Tower hotel, won her prize after submitting a 500-word essay, participating in a two-day training course, and making a personal presentation of her career aspirations.

"I was thrilled to win the Olive Barnett Award, the experience boosted my confidence and the course at Lausanne was second to none," said Morgan. "My career prospects have definitely soared as a result."

The winner and two runners-up will be announced at an event at Claridge's hotel in London on 15 May.
