Trio of newcomers from M&J Seafood

Smoked Scottish salmon, Black Pearl scallops and stuffed Yellow Fin sole are the newest offerings from M&J Seafood. The salmon is sourced from Glasgow-based supplier Campbell & Neill and is covered in a blend of salt, sugar and Demerara molasses before curing and smoking. It's available in portions ranging from 250g to 1.4kg (representing a whole side of salmon) and costs €9.95 (£6.57) per kg. The roeless scallops from the Atlantic seaboard come in 1kg tubs priced at about €24 (£16) containing between 20 to 30 scallops. Last but not least, the triangular fillets of sole - available in 180-225g portions - are stuffed with smoked haddock and Gruyère cheese in a whole-leaf spinach sauce and cost about €21.90 (£14.50) for a case of 10.
