Vacherin launches healthy-eating range backed by QR code information
City caterer Vacherin has launched a new healthy-eating initiative that incorporates technology to better keep its customers clued up.
The new Nutritious & Delicious brand, launched today, was developed by Vacherin to meet a growing consumer need for more information about the food offer.
Vacherin's products in its new range will each feature a QR code that customers can scan to access detailed nutritional information on their smartphones.
Mark Philpott, managing director of Vacherin, explained: "We've watched the meteoric rise of the smartphone and matched this with the increasing numbers of customers that want to be able to make informed decisions about what they are eating.
"By giving them a new range of specially developed healthy foods alongside instant access to dietary and nutritional advice, we're catering for this need."
The new range, which will be sold alongside Vacherin's existing food offer, will be launched at all of the caterer's client sites that feature a café or restaurant over the next six weeks and initially focus on grab-and-go-style dishes.
Lloyd Mann, director of food for Vacherin, said: "We've developed this new range along with our resident nutritionist Gary Baverstock and we will be attending all of the launch events to explain the dishes, show customers how to use the QR codes or the Nutritious & Delicious iPad that will be located at each site, and provide specialist advice to customers who want it."
