Vacherin wins £1m cafe and events contract at the Ortus
City operator Vacherin has won a £1m catering contract at the Ortus in Camberwell, South London.
The venue is a new £4.6m learning and events centre operated by community interest company Maudsley Learning, with all profits going to Maudsley Charity.
"We were looking for a catering operator that was able to understand the strategic vision of Maudsley Learning, which is to raise knowledge and awareness of mental health and wellbeing," said a spokesperson for the Ortus.
"Vacherin totally ‘got' us as they appreciate how important it is for people to eat the right things. We were impressed with Vacherin's Nutritious & Delicious menu, which contains a number of ‘mood food' recipes."
The three-year deal will see Vacherin deliver event catering at the flexible 1,500 sq m event space that is capable of accommodating up to 500 guests.
Vacherin will also operate the new café, serving its Nutritious & Delicious healthy eating concept, which highlight the beneficial properties of dishes and their ingredients to physical and mental health.
Phil Roker, owner and commercial director for Vacherin, said: "This is a really exciting opportunity for Vacherin and we're delighted to be working with Maudsley Learning to develop the Ortus into one of South London's best venues. The meetings and events space offers huge potential."
