Visit London gets its own TV channel

London's marketing board, Visit London, is launching a £2m digital TV channel to inspire residents and tourists to get to know the capital better.

The 24-hour station will launch on 12 July and will be available through Sky Digital. The station will be paid for by a mixture of funding from Visit London and the London Development Agency.

TV London will feature the latest on the capital's culture, shopping, eating, accommodation and trips out.

"London TV provides one of the best ways to deliver up-to-the-minute information in a fast-moving city like ours," said a spokesman. "Television brings the capital to life in a way that a guidebook could never do."
