Website launched to help tourism firms benefit from the Olympics
A website for tourism businesses looking to benefit from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games has been launched.
VisitBritain, together with London 2012's Nations & Regions Group (NRG) and the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), have created www.Tourism2012Games.org
The site will provide information on how companies working within the tourism industry can benefit from the increased number of visitors to the UK during London 2012. It also offers business advice and access to products and services from two of London 2012's main UK partners, BT and Lloyds TSB.
"The 2012 Games are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to host the world's biggest party, to showcase Britain and improve our welcome," said VisitBritain chief executive Sandie Dawes.
"There is a potential £2.1b benefit at stake so with little over two years to go, we aim to make tourism businesses aware of the opportunities and challenges.
"The new Tourism2012Games website will help everyone in tourism understand exactly how they can benefit from the Games."
