Whatley Manor's Martin Burge talks to Caterersearch about winning a second Michelin star

Newly anointed two-Michelin-starred chef, Martin Burge, talks exclusively to Emily Manson about the shock of receiving a second star and what it means to finally get them in his own name.

The head chef of Whatley Manor in Wiltshire admitted he had harboured doubts about whether he'd ever get a second star and said he was surprised but "over the moon: by this year's endorsement in the Michelin Guide to Great Britain and Ireland.

He told Caterersearch he had been hoping for a rising two star prediction and went "white as a sheet" when he was told by Michelin guide editor Derek Bulmer he had received a two star-rating.

Burge has a pedigree background, having previously worked with chefs Richard Neat, Raymond Blanc and John Burton Race.
