Gareth Ward partners with Aberystwyth Town Football Club

Aberystwyth Town Football Club has announced it is partnering with Gareth Ward to develop the food and beverage offer at the club.

Ward and the team from two-Michelin-star Ynyshir in Machynlleth will work with the club to create a series of matchday pop-up dining experiences, as well as menus for hospitality events and corporate dining experiences.

Ward said: “I’m incredibly excited to be partnering with Aberystwyth Town Football Club. Football clubs should be at the heart of their communities, and I see a real opportunity to bring people together through food and unforgettable matchday experiences and corporate events.”

Amelia Eiriksson, creative director and co-owner of Ynyshir Restaurant and Rooms, added: “Together, we’re creating something that blends football, food and creativity in a way that’s authentic to Aberystwyth. We hope supporters, partners and visitors will experience something truly unique every time they visit Park Avenue.”

Working alongside Gareth and Amelia allows us to offer something truly unique, while showcasing Aberystwyth as a destination both on and off the pitch.

“Football clubs today need to be more than 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. We want Park Avenue to become a place where people come together to enjoy great football, incredible food and memorable experiences, and there is no better partner than Gareth and the Ynyshir team to help us achieve that vision.”

Ward’s restaurant is situated in Eglwys Fach, just over 12 miles from Aberystwyth town centre and the home of the club. It offers guests a tasting menu from £450.

The chef partnership marks the beginning of the club’s plans to create “the most innovative matchday experiences in Welsh football” combining hospitality with community football.

Supporters can experience the partnership at the opening home fixture against Treowen Stars on Saturday 8 August.
