General manager appointed at Westin London City ahead of September opening

Alex Dallocchio has been appointed general manager of the Westin London City ahead of the 222-bedroom property's opening in September, which will mark the debut of Westin Hotels & Resorts in the UK.

Dallocchio previously managed properties in the United States including the Beverly Hills Marriott, Embassy Suites Las Vegas and the Declan Suites in San Diego.

The Westin London City will feature a 370 sq m spa, indoor swimming pool, two restaurants and a riverside wine bar.

Dallocchio said: "I'm thrilled to debut the Westin Hotels and Resorts brand in London at a time when wellness has never been so important to travellers, and to oversee the opening of this marquee hotel on the iconic River Thames. I'm looking forward to bringing my insight from the US market to London and setting a new standard for wellbeing in the capital."

Originally due to open last year, the property is owned by hotel development company 4C Hotel Group and will be managed by RBH. The hotel will form a key part of the redevelopment of the former Queensbridge House site and forms the final piece of the path connecting Embankment and the Tower of London.
