Green & Fortune will provide catering at the new London Museum in Smithfield as the caterer targets £20m turnover for 2026
Green & Fortune has won a 10-year contract to provide catering at the new London Museum, which is due to open later this year.
The contract at the Smithfield museum is the first of several openings the John Nugent-led business plans to announce this year in addition to its five existing London contracts, which include Kings Place, Sea Containers, Central Hall Events and Rose Court.
The London Museum is a £437m project to redevelop Smithfield market spanning two buildings, the 15,000 square foot Victorian General Market and adjacent Poultry Market. Green & Fortune will manage four hospitality spaces at the project, including all-day dining, café and grab-and-go formats. It will also lead catering for the museum’s venue hire events.
Green & Fortune founder and chief executive John Nugent said: “The ambitions and scale that the London Museum project brings are rare to find. The opportunity to deliver a raft of new styles of service that represents the city, past and present, is incredible.
"As a deep-rooted London business, all at Green & Fortune are looking to shift the dial in what museums and galleries offer to their visitors, as well as to the wider eating and drinking community across the capital and beyond.”
Nugent added that the contract win represented the beginning of a new chapter of growth for the business, which is predicting revenue to top £20m for 2026, up from £17.5m in 2024. He added that to mark this new phase, Green & Fortune would undergo a full brand refresh, including a new logo, brand identity and website.
Managing director Sarah Miller, who joined Green & Fortune last year, said of the London Museum contract win: “With competition for tenders fierce across the board, we are extremely proud to have been chosen by London Museum as partner of choice for this groundbreaking new museum.”
Nathan Lamb, director experience and enterprise, London Museum, added: “Through our partnership with Green & Fortune, we’ll build on the rich heritage of our local neighbourhood and celebrate London’s vibrant food culture as a core part of the museum’s offer. Whether you’re travelling here as an international visitor, dropping in on your lunch break, meeting up with friends, or arranging a special event, we want to give visitors a real taste of the city.”
