Guillaume Paupy named general manager at Hyatt Regency London – the Churchill

Guillaume Paupy has been appointed general manager at Hyatt Regency London – the Churchill and area vice-president for Hyatt UK & Ireland.

Paupy was born and raised in France and started his career in hospitality in Paris before flying across the world in 2001 to work at Park Hyatt Tokyo.

From there, he has worked across properties ranging from the Grand Hyatt São Paulo to Palacio Duhau Park Hyatt Buenos Aires.

He was most recently based at Andaz Tokyo, where he was general manager and managing director of Hyatt hotels in Japan.

After more than 25 years with Hyatt, Paupy has relocated to London to oversee the UK and Ireland operations.

In a post on LinkedIn, a spokesperson for Hyatt Regency London – the Churchill said: “Those who have worked with Guillaume know him as a collaborative leader with a calm presence, a sharp strategic mind and a deep respect for culture and people. We look forward to the fresh perspective he brings to this new chapter and are excited for what lies ahead under his leadership at the Churchill and across the UK and Ireland.”

It comes after the Chicago-based hotel group unveiled plans to expand its UK portfolio by 30% over the next two years, having named the region as a “priority growth market”.
