Hastings Hotels appoints new general manager to Culloden Estate

Hastings Hotels has appointed Lisa Steele as general manager of its Culloden Estate & Spa in Belfast.

Steele joins the 100-bedroom property having previously worked as opening general manager of the AC Hotel Belfast. She has also been general manager of the Malmaison Belfast and Hotel du Vin Edinburgh and in her new role replaces Garrett Power, who has joined the InterContinental Hotel Dublin as hotel manager.

Steele said: "I am delighted to have joined the Hastings Hotels team as general manager of the Culloden Estate & Spa. As the largest independent hotel group in Northern Ireland, the brand is renowned for offering the very best in hospitality and dedication to guests and I look forward to continuing to provide this experience at their luxury, flagship property.

"Although it has been an unusual time to start a new role, with the whole country on lockdown, I have used this time to really get to know the Culloden and its beautiful grounds. I am now fully enjoying welcoming back guests for a relaxing, rejuvenating and very well-deserved break."

The hotel reopened following the easing of lockdown restrictions in Northern Ireland last month. The estate underwent a £4.8m, three-year renovation programme, which completed in 2017.

A family business founded more than 50 years ago by Sir William Hastings, Hastings Hotels has a collection of seven properties across Northern Ireland, including Belfast's Europe hotel, the Stormont hotel, and the newly opened 300-bedroom Grand Central hotel.
