Hillbrooke Hotels acquires Holbrook Manor & Spa in Somerset

Hillbrooke Hotels has acquired the Holbrook Manor & Spa wedding venue in Somerset as the fifth property in its portfolio.

Holbrook Manor has more than 80 weddings booked for the remainder of 2022 and features 20 bedrooms, a health club and 15 acres of grounds.

The Hillbrooke team plan to refurbish the property in early 2023 and relaunch it as a full-service hotel with additional secluded cabins.

The hotel group already operates four boutique hotels in Lincolnshire and the New Forest, including the Spot in the Woods, which was founded by world-leading sommelier Gerard Basset.

Paul Brown, managing director of Hillbrooke Hotels, said: "Holbrook Manor & Spa is a perfect fit for our approach to hospitality and this was obvious right from the off. We want to maintain its reputation as a popular wedding destination, whilst adding our own hotel expertise to create a ‘go to' destination in Somerset."

The Georgian manor house features a large amount of function space as well as more intimate lounge areas, which will be used as a base for its transformation into a full-service hotel.

Brown added: "This is a huge step in the right direction for Hillbrooke and we can't wait to get started on our new project. We are incredibly lucky to acquire such a breathtaking venue, as well as inherit such an outstanding team of staff. I have every confidence that this venture will be a real success."
