37 evacuated in London hotel blaze
A fire at a hotel in east London forced a total of 37 guests and staff to evacuate the premises this morning.
Firefighters were called to the Courtney hotel in Aldersbrook Road E12 near Manor Park at 2.23am.
London Fire Brigade said that around 15% of the first floor and 5% of the second floor were damaged in the blaze, which took 40 firefighters to tackle it.
Fortunately all of the guests managed to evacuate the premises. One woman was treated by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
