A ploughman's lunch by any other name
Beer and cheese? (Caterer, 2 February, page 24). What a novel, thought-provoking idea - apart from the fact that local country folk have been quaffing good English beer and cider with the best meal in the world for centuries. The meal is local English cheese and freshly baked bread - and it's called a ploughman's lunch.
Forget the poncey stuff and stick to what's best.
